About Dal Neitzel

I share life on Lummi Island in the Pacific Northwest corner of the USA, with my wonderful wife and traveling companion, Kathy.

Lummi is one of hundreds of small islands in the San Juan archipelago of the Salish Sea. The island group straddles the U.S./Canada border.

The region offers an abundance of natural landscapes from the inland sea to rocky shorelines, mountain meadows, rushing woodland streams and fog covered forests.

My photographic style is eclectic. I approach every walk I take as a new photo opportunity and every individual photo as a single moment looking for  expression.

I use a variety of cameras including a Canon 5Ds and 7DII as well as a PaperShoot, DJI Drone and even a hand-built, tin can pinhole.

Although wildflowers are my passion and you will see several colorful examples in my gallery...the camera is my tool for examining everything around me. Without a lens the world is just a blur...
